1. Are you on the right screen?
Confirm you are looking at a Confluence page (title + body), not Jira, not Space settings.
The byline control is named QC - R&U and sits near the title. It is easy to miss among other app buttons.
2. Are you using Confluence in your phone?
The mobile app often hides the byline. Use a Signature Box or a desktop browser.
3. Is the app on in this space?
Ask a space admin, or if you are one:
-
Space settings → Integrations → QC R&U - Space Settings → Settings
-
Enabled must be on, then Update.
Also check Global Settings to do link that this space is not disabled for the whole site.
4. Is the byline turned off on this page?
-
•••→ Apps → QC R&U - Page Overview → Settings -
If Byline is Disabled, set Enabled or Default, then Update.
5. Are you assigned on the page?
If the space enforces only assigned users, you will see an error instead of a working button until someone adds you.
6. Are you a Guest on the space?
Guests never get Page Overview. They can still confirm if they can view the page. See [Guests and unlicensed users].
7. Do you see an OTP warning?
A yellow box titled Warning! that asks you to set OTP in Profile Settings means you must [enable OTP] under Apps → QC R&U - Global → Personal Settings. Until then both buttons stay unavailable — that is intended, not a defect.
8. Does the app have the right permissions?
If you see a message that the app cannot access the page or space, follow [The app cannot access the page].
If QC - R&U is there but nothing happens, refresh the page once.
9. Does the message mention another app?
If the panel talks about QC Approvals, QC Revision, or a Page Properties header, the version is coming from another app or macro. A space admin follows [Integrations with other apps] and [The app cannot detect the version].
If the app still fails, please contact our support with the space key, page title, and a screenshot of the whole page including the title row.
